Fordham Plaza in the Bronx is a major transportation hub where several bus lines terminate and the Metro-North Railroad has a stop. The reconstruction of Fordham Plaza is being undertaken to reconfigure the bus circulation thereby allowing pedestrians to get out of the way of the buses. Haider Engineering, P.C. provided Inspection Services for construction of new concrete and steel faced concrete curb, construction of sidewalk, site safety, liaison of work with city agencies and maintenance and protection of traffic. Haider also made recommendations to the contractor regarding the approval of proposed subcontractors and material vendors. Haider provided offsite plant inspection of fabricated and/or raw materials to be used on the Project, as directed by the Commissioner, to insure conformance with the material specifications of the construction contract.

1. Review the DDC utility plan and Verizon as-built drawings.
2. Prepare and complete plans drawing Verizon utility on DDC Utility plans.
3. Attend project coordination meeting with Verizon representative.
4. Attend alignment meeting, as Verizon representative, with Verizon Project Manager at DDC office at Long Island City.
5. Prepare Test pits locations sketches for DOT permit, Preparation of Test Pit Layout Plans to check feasibility of the plan alignment Attend Joint test pit mark-outs with Verizon Test Pit Contractor Perform Test Pit Inspection to locate existing facilities and structures and to verify depth of test pits roofs within each test pit Preparation of Test Pit Sketches indicating results in plan and section views.
6. Complete revision of DDC plan
7. Coordination with Verizon for number of ducts and limits of work
8. Preparation of Section U package
